Boy killed in lightning mishap

Thanjavur, Aug 19 (UNI) A boy was killed and another sustained burn injuries when lightining struck them at Erukkoor village in Serkali, near here.

According to police, the deceased Rajesh (13) and injured Vignesh (16), whose vision was also affected, were standing under a tree, when the mishap occurred. The tree was also completely charred.

Meanwhile, several parts of the Cauvery Delta area experienced heavey rains, farmers added. The rain was beneficial to standing Kuruvai paddy crops in delta district.
