3 shot dead in clash between two groups in Kaushambhi

Kaushambhi, Aug 19 (UNI) Three people were shot dead and four others wounded in a clash between two groups of people in Kaushambhi district today.

The dispute between gram pradhan of Gurauli village Ashok Pradhan and Swaroop Narayan snowballed after the latter's shop license was cancelled. Besides, a disppute relating to the panchayat election is said to be the reason behind the crime.

Both the groups had a heated exchanged of words today that later snowballed into the clash.

While, Satya Narayan Singh and Bablu Singh died on the spot, Somdatt succumbed on way to hospital.

Budh Sen, Kamlesh, Vimlesh and Hanuman Prasad were injured in the incident and admitted to Swaroop Rani Nehru hospital in Allahabad.

Meanwhile, police in strength have been deployed in the area to avoid any fresh violence.
