3 held with fake passports

Chennai, Aug 19 (UNI) Immigration authorities at Anna International Airport here arrested three passengers on the charges of carrying fake passports, last night.

Airport officials said Mani (32) of Sivaganga district,Ammar Ullah (28) of Pudhukottai District and Ravi (30) of Kanniyakumari District arrived from Malaysia by Air India flight AI425 when they were intercepted at the Immigration clearance and passports found to be fake.

The accused confessed to the crime and said they were denied 'original' passport from their employeer based in Malaysia, which prompted them to commit the crime.

The accused were handed over to the Central Crime Branch for further investigation.
