Union Committee to demonstrate against Indo-US Nuke deal

Chennai, Aug 18 (UNI) The Coordination Committee of Middle class Trade Unions, comprising State and Central government organisations, will stage a protest demonstration on August 20 in protest against the Indo-US Nuke deal.

In a statement here today, the union said the nuke deal was detrimental to the country's sovereignty and urged the Centre not to implement the deal.

The Union comprises various organisations representing employees of State and Central government, Insurance, Banks, Indian Oil, BSNL and also medical representatives, lawyers, school teachers.

The demonstration would be held in front of the District Collectorate here and it would be addressed by CITU Secretary W R Varadarajan.
