Sugar prices ease on lack of demand

Navi Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) Spot sugar prices eased today on lack of demand, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.

Sugar in small and medium declined by Rs five and Rupee one rspectively owing to improved offers by stockists.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grade was also down by Rs five and Rs 10 respectively because of sustained heavy selling pressure.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,316/1,366, Medium grade Rs 1,360/1,480.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,300/1,320, Medium grade: Rs 1,335/1,440 UNI NV SM1501
