Six get capital punishment for kidnapping and subsequent killing
Patna, Aug 18 (UNI) A local court today awarded capital punishment to six people in a case relating to kidnapping and subsequent killing of a school boy.
Additional district and sessions judge of Patna, Ram Pravesh Sharma found all the accused guilty of kidnapping and subsequent killing of Sumit, a 13-year-old boy.
Pronouncing the quantum of punishment, the judge observed that the capital punishment would be proper for the circumstances and the manner under which the cold blood murder was committed.
Sumit alias Lallan, a student of BMP High School, was kidnapped by the convicts for a ransom of Rs three lakh and subsequently killed when their parents failed to deposit the amount.
The body was thrown away on railway line near Phulwari Sharif railway station by the convicts with an intention to destroy the evidence.
