Rs 200 crore revenue increase for Endowment Department

Srikalahasti, Aug 18 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Endowment Department's revenue has increased to nearly Rs 200 crore from Rs 50 crore in the last six months, according to Endowment Commissioner P Sundarkumar.

Talking to newspersons here yesterday Mr Kumar, who made surprise visit at Srikalahasteeswara swamy temple said nearly 100 temples in the state had internet facilities and websites.

Besides taking up temple development works on war-footing, the government had sanctioned one Chief Engineer post and special ''land save cells'' to look into the temple land issues at Tirupati, Hyderabad and Kakinada, he said.

A Chief Legal Officer was also appointed to clear the temple land disputes.

In view of ''Agama Sastra Parirakshana'' here, 16 'Agama' schools would be started at various temples in the state, one of which was already functioning at Srikalahasti.
