Rajasthan gets new software to keep track of midday meal

Jaipur, Aug 18 (UNI) Rajasthan will become the first and only state in the country to use an innovative software to analyse the successful implementation of mid-day meal scheme in schools.

Rural Development Minister Kalu Lal Gurjar said the software developed by National Informatics Science Centre will readily supply information about the right proportion of minerals, proteins in the prepared food, the distribution centres and the number of children fed, financial management and others. A cross-checking of the information is also possible.

Mid-day meal commissioner Sudhanshu Pant said this special software has been made available in all 237 panchayats in 32 districts of the state. Now the information available at the panchayat level would also enable exchange of information about mid-day meal.
