President condoles loss of life in Peru earthquake

New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil today expressed condolence over the loss of lives and damage to property in the earthquake which struck Peru.

In a message to Peru President Alan Garcia, she said, '' It is with shock and sadness that we received the news of the earthquake in which many precious lives have been lost and properties and infrastructure damaged.'' ''I wish to take the opportunity to express to the breaved families, the government and the people of Peru our deepest sympathies and solidarity,'' the President added.
