None can take law in one's own hand : Ambika Soni

Kolkata, Aug 18 (UNI) Condemning the attack at Hyderabad and the Imam's Fatwa against controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen, Union Tourism Minister Ambika Soni today said none should take law in one's own hand.

" Everybody has the right to express his or her opinion in a democratic set-up. There is a law in the country and the law would take its own course if any community suffers. But none should take law in one's own hand, " Ms Soni told newspersons at Pradesh Congress office here.

Shahi Imam of the Tipu Sultan Masjid Syed Mohammed Noorur Rahman Barkati declared a Fatwa at a rally yesterday, promising an unlimited cash reward for killing Taslima Nasreen.

She also said both Barkati and Nasreen should restrain themselves from making any inflammatory comment.
