Narayan Murthy calls for the creation of 'Civilized Society'

Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) Infosys chief mentor N R Narayan Murthy today called for the creation of a 'Civilized Society' for the betterment and prosperity of the current generation in comparison to their contemporary young generation.

Addressing mediapersons, Mr Murthy drew attention towards the yester-year generation's failure to set good examples and role-models for the current young generation.

Mr Murthy said today's youth has a very good value system and a variety of choices in life and career at their disposal.

''When you have so may choices, you need a much better value system.

However, you have a bigger challenge'', the Infosys mentor added.

Making a comparative analysis between the present generation and their contemporary young generation, Mr Murthy reminded, ''At our time, we had better role models, political leaders and teachers like Gandhi, Nehru, Subhash, Bhagat Singh and several others. Simultaneously, we were exposed to positive happenings all around, that is missing anyway in today's India.'' Mr Murthy emphasised that ''we must remember we all are the beneficiaries of the examples set by the generations we followed.

And on our par,t we failed to set good examples for the present generation.'' UNI
