local court releases 40 people

Hubli, Aug 18 (UNI) The First Additional District and Sessions Court here today ordered release of 40 people, including RAshtriya Hindu Sena Chief Pramod Mutalik, after the prosecution failed to prove charges that they were involved in violence during platinum jubilee of Vishwa Hindu Parishat leader Ashok Singhal birth anniversary here in 2001.

The police had filed a chargesheet against them, accusing them of creating trouble during the celebrations.
