Koda hopeful of increasing SC/ST seats despite DC's recommendation
Hazaribagh, Aug 18 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today hoped that the Union Cabinet would rethink before giving its consent to the recommendation of Delimitation Commission (DC) over reducing the SC/ST Assembly and Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Koda said the Law Ministry had already constituted a committee, which would submit its report by August 20 in this regard.
Mr Koda said the committee was formed after they apprised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of the people's feeling over the issue.
'' Any decision on the issue would be taken after reviewing both reports, '' Mr Koda maintained.
Speaking about extremism in the state, Mr Koda said efforts were being taken to bring ultras into the mainstream.
Earlier, Mr Koda lambasted the CPI workers for demonstrating and showing black flags to him while the CM was distributing appoitment letters among the '' Gram Rozgar Sevaks''.
The CPI had alleged that district administration was resorting to discrepancies in those appointments.
