Gyani posted as Ratlam Collector

Bhopal, Aug 18 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has posted IAS officer Mahendra Gyani as Ratlam Collector in place of Mr J N Malpani, who was removed from the post on the directive of the Election Commission.

Mr Gyani is at present posted as Deputy Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development department, official sources said today.

Mr Malpani attracted the ire of the Election Commission when he allowed Transport Minister Himmat Kothari to preside over an official meeting to review the progress of preparation of photo identity cards of voters.

Mr Malpani was appointed Additional Commissioner (Revenue) at Jabalpur.
