Fresh batch of 240 pilgrims leaves for Amarnath
Jammu, Aug 18 (UNI) The fresh batch of 628 pilgrims today left at 0505 hrs for Pahalgam and Baltal base camps from where they would move towards the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir, official sources said.
The batch, comprising 116 men, 29 women, one child and 94 sadhus, left in a fleet of seven vehicles, including six buses, and one light motor vehicle (LMV) admist tight security from here, sources added.
With today's convoy, the 44th this year, a total of 56,091 pilgrims had left for the holy shrine from the Jammu Base camp since July, sources said.
