DPS, New Delhi is the most respected school in India: survey

Ahmedabad, Aug 18 (UNI) Delhi Public School, R K Puram, New Delhi has been ranked as the 'most respected secondary school' in India in a first ever survey conducted by the Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB).

Education World Editor Dilip Thakore, who had commissioned IMRB for the survey told mediapersons today that Ahmedabad based secondary educational institute, St Kabir School has been ranked number one in the entire western zone and fifth in the country.

Mr Thakore said though St Kabir school was ranked fifth in the country but it has come first on their parameter of ''Value for Money'' among the top four and ranked third on other important parameters like leadership management quality, teacher-pupil ratio and quality of teachers.

''Over 250 schools short-listed by the Education World were assessed by a carefully constituted respondents base comprising parents, principals, teachers and educationists on 12 parameters-- academic reputation, co-curricular education, sports, education, quality of teachers, teacher-pupil ratio, value for money, management quality, parental involvement, infrastructure, quality of alumni, integrity and honesty in admission,'' Mr Thakore said.

St Kabir School managing trustee Col Vinod Kumar said, ''It is a great honour and personal satisfaction for me to see our school among the top five schools in the country.'' ''Our school has won widespread public respect because for the past twenty years we have created a unique synergy between academics and extra-curricular activities and bonding between teachers, students and among students themselves,'' Col Kumar added.

The other schools which have been named for the top ten positions in the country include --The Doon School, Dehradun (2nd), Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Delhi (3rd), South Point High School, Kolkata (4th), City Montessori School, Lucknow (6th), Apeejay School, Delhi (7th), La Martiniere Boys School, Kolkata (8th), Seth M R Jaipuria School, Gomtinagar, Lucknow (9th) and La Martiniere Girls School, Kolkata (10th).
