A person convicted to life imprisonment for killing wife
Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) A local court today convicted a person to life imprisonment on charge of murder of his pregnant wife as she refused to bring Rs 25,000 from her parents last year.
While pronouncing the judgement here, the Additional Session Court Judge V B Kamkhedkar said accused Sachin Dada Kamble (22) has committed an offence, punishable under section 302 of Indian Penal code (IPC). He will have to undergo life imprisonment and pay fine of Rs five thousand and in default have to undergo further simple imprisonment of one-year.
Deceased Sushma Sachin Kamble (20) was working as sweeper in a school at Belapur in Navi Mumbai. The accused had asked her to get Rs 25,000 from her parent to purchase a house in Belapur. She had refused to ask them for the money as they did not have capacity to pay this much money. Thereafter, she started staying with her parents.
On September 19 last year, the accused went to her work place and asked her to come home. He took a rickshaw for Pant Nagar, Ghatkopar, from Chembur railway station. As soon as they got down from the rickshaw, the cccused cut the throat of his wife.
Injured Sushma was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital. But she succumbed to injuries at 1930 hours on the same day.
Six witnesses were examined in the case.
