6 years imprisonment to 6 congress workers
Agartala, Aug 18 (UNI) Six Congress activists have been sentenced to six years imprisonment by Belonia sub-divisional court of South Tripura for attempting to murder six CPI(M) workers.
Official sources here today said the court yesterday sentenced the six accused for attacking CPI (M) workers during the 2003 Assembly polls.
The court said the activists had been found guilty of posing a threat to the life of the CPI(M) workers and physically assaulting their political opponents.
Altogether, 19 people were accused, of which, the court relieved 13 people, the sources added.
