200 home-care experts to attend palliative care workshop

Kozhikode, Aug 18 (UNI) As many as 200 home-care experts from India and abroad are expected to participate in the Second International Workshop on Community Participation in 'Palliative Care' at Majeri in Malappuram district of Kerala beginning February five, 2008.

As many as 100 delegates from India and the rest from 40 other nations had confirmed this participation, Indian Association of Palliative Care President Sukhdev Naik and Director, Institute of Palliative Medicine, Medical College, Calicut Mr Suresh Kumar told reporters here today.

Delegates from Australia, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Cananda, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Uganda, South Africa and Zimbabwe would be among those from abroad participating in the two-day workshop featuring nine seminars.

The main objective of organising the event is to provide the participants with an opportunity to interact, pool experience and exchange ideas in the field of home-care, they added.
