Police nabbed a notorious gangster who had escaped from custody

Bangalore, Aug 17 (UNI) Police have arrested notorious gangster Asgar Pasha, who had escaped while in police custody in 2005, along with three of associates others on charges of possessing arms and ammunitions.

City Police Commissioner N Neelam Achutarao told reporters here today that Pasha, who was serving jail term on the charges of a murder, had escaped while he was taken back to Kolar jail after medical treatment in Bangalore.

He said that one revolver, some live bullets and other lethal weapons were seized from the gang.

Pasha, after escaping from police custody, had been in touch naxals during this period, he said.

The gangster was plotting to use the arms and ammunition in the city and other places in the state to commit crimes, he said.

He said that Pasha would be subjected to conduct a narco analysis test to get more details of the plan.
