Lok Sabha adjourned till 1600 hrs for lack of quorum
New Delhi, Aug 17 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was today adjourned for 30 minutes till 1600 hrs for lack of quorum.
As the House re-assembled at 1530 hrs after two adjournments, there were just 38 members present.
After ten minutes, Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary announced that the Speaker has directed that the House will meet at 1600 hours. He said the decision was taken as there was lack of Quorum.
NDA Convenor George Fernandes' reported derogatary remarks against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh relating to the Indo- US nuclear deal provoked angry reactions from the Treasury benches.
This resulted in two adjournments earlier.
