Patna, Aug 17 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the Centre to file Action Taken Report(ATR) on construction of the building of proposed Jai Prakash Narain All India Institue of Medical Sciences here.

A division bench of Justice Narain Rai and Justice Mihir Kumar Jha issued the directive to the Centre during the hearing of a public interest petition filed in this regard.

Counsel of the state government informed the court that 100 acre of land had already been allotted for the purpose and it was now for the Centre to carry on the construction work of the proposed hospital.

The counsel of the petitioner alleged that construction of the building had not been initiated so far and only boundaries had been erected on the land allotted for the purpose near WALMI in Patna.

Earlier, the then Vice-President of India Bhairon Singh Sekhawat had laid the foundation of the proposed hospital on January 2, 2004 and it was to be completed by 2009.
