Governor urges open univ. to impart quality education

Gulbarga, Aug 17 (UNI) Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi today urged authorities to impart quality education through open universities.

Mr Chaturvedi after laying foundation stone for the construction of a Regional Study Centre of Karnataka State Open University here today said ''there is a notion among people that education through correspondence courses through open university is second rated education.

"The misconception should be negated by providing quality education to the students", he said.

He said that nowadays the education through open university assumed significance since it was not possible to all study in the colleges. He also asked the authorities to ensure that education through open university be accessible to everybody.

Later, he inaugurated a new Master Law course in the Gulbarga University.

He also released a book''Mitakshra'' authored by Gulbarga based Deccan Herald correspondent Srinivas Sirnookar.

Earlier, the Governor visited Vijnaneshwara Research and Training Institute at Martur village about 30 km from here.
