Convenor of state unit of the LJP and party MLA Pashupati Kumar Paras said more than two crore people were affected in 19 districts of north Bihar, while the relief materials being distributed among them were far below thir requirements.

He urged the Centre to immediately intervene to provide relief among the suffering masses as the state government had 'failed in discharging its responsibility.' Alleging that the state government was suppressing the casualty figure, he said that more than 1500 people were killed in flood fury so far this year.

On the advice of Union Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Steel Authority of India Limited(SAIL) was preparing two lakh relief packets with an investment of Rs two crores which would be distributed among the flood victims soon, Mr Paras added.
