Court grants bail to Budhia's coach in another case

Bhubaneswar, Aug 17 (UNI) Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Arun Kumar Sahu today granted bail to marathon kid Budhia Singh's coach Biranchi Das in another case, filed by a woman for allegedly outraging her modesty.

Mr Das was granted bail on a deposit of Rs 5,000 and one surety.

A case was filed against him and 29 others for outraging the modesty of a woman on July 25 last.

He was granted bail by the court yesterday on a case filed by Budhia's mother, Sukanti Singh alleging that her son was subjected to mental torture and physical assault by coach Biranchi Das.

The SDJM granted bail after Biranchi Das's counsel argued that the allegations were baseless and there was no injury to prove that Budhia was physically tortured by the coach.

Though Mr Das was granted conditional bail by the SDJM yesterday, he had to remain in the jail here as the other case was not taken up.
