New Delhi, Aug 17: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani today said the BJP did not want the UPA government to fall as yet on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Allowed to make a brief mention on the 123 agreement between India and United States soon after Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee rejected the Opposition notice for moving a motion under Rule 184, seeking re-negotiation of the agreement, Mr Advani said it is for the first time in the history of the country that a Prime Minister has to face privilege notice on an international agreeement.

Amid the din created by Congress members when Mr Advani spoke of media reports of impending divorce of the Left with the ruling UPA coalition, the Speaker said ''You will be happy'' if the divorce occurred. To this the BJP leader replied ''No, I do not want the government to go as yet.'' When BJP members objected to loud protests by the Congress to Mr Advani's reference speech on the nuke issue, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee stood up and pointing towards Mr Advani charged, ''You have been disrupting the House since the day the 14th session began.'' Uproarious protest to this by BJP members were lost in the din and the Speaker ruled that nothing except what is said by Mr Advani will go on record.
