Vaiko to observe fast to promote social harmony

Chennai, Aug 16 (UNI) MDMK chief Vaiko will observe a day's fast on August 26 at Tenkasi in the southern Tirunelveli district, where six people were killed in communal clashes a few days ago.

In a statement here, he said the fast was to foster social harmony, brotherhood and religious tolerance in the area.

He appealed to the people of all religions to participate in the fast for national integration, the statement added.
