Sacha Sauda Dera chief moves HC for anticipatory bail

Chandigarh, Aug 16 (UNI) Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh has a moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court to grant him anticipatory bail in connection with three cases registered against him by the CBI.

The cases included alleged sexual exploitation of female inmates of the Dera, conspiracy to murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati of Sirsa and also former Dera follower Ranjit Singh of Kurukashetra district in Haryana.

The petitioner has been asked by special CBI judge, Ambala to appear before him in connection with CBI chargesheets on August 31.

The anticipatory bail has been sought to ensure that the Dera Chief was not arrested in all the three cases.
