Orissa teachers to intensify agitation
Bhubaneswar, Aug 16 (UNI) Four teachers organisations threatened to intensify their agitation to protest against the ''apathetic'' attitude of the state government towards the education system.
The members of All Orissa Federation of Teachers'Organisation (AOFTO),All Orissa Secondary School Teachers Association (AOSSTA), All Orissa Lower Secondary School Teachers' Association (AOLSSTA) and all Orissa Non-Govt College Teachers Association(AONCTA) organised a massive rally in support of their demands, here today.
AOFTO General Secretary Abani Baral said as a first step the teachers would constitute People Education Forum all over the state from tomorrow.
From September one teachers would stage dharna in all the 314 blocks of the state and submit memorandum in support of their demands. On September 5, 'black day' would be observed and the teachers would resort to civil disobedience and jail bharo movement sometime in the October if the government failed to meet their demands.
