Oppn creates ruckus in RS over Nuke deal, force adjournment
New Delhi, Aug 16 (UNI) Protesting over the nuclear deal and demanding that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh apologise to the nation for having allegedly misled it on the issue, angry Opposition members led by the BJP today forced adjournment of the Rajya Sabha for about 45 minutes.
As soon as the House met for the day, Chairman Hamid Ansari wanted to proceed with the questions, but BJP's Sushma Swaraj and Murli Manohar Joshi, along with other party members, stood up and demanded that the Question Hour be suspended and the Prime Minister explain the factual position regarding the deal.
Some members later trooped into the well of the House and started shouting slogans, but the Chairman said nothing would go on the record.
He repeatedly appealed to them to go back to their seats.
However, the Members were in no mood to relent. Finally, Mr Ansari announced adjournment of the House till 1200 hrs.
