Darbhanga, Aug 16 (UNI) Congress general secretary and in-charge of Bihar affairs Digvijay Singh today alleged that the Nitish Kumar government had failed in providing relief to suffering masses in flood ravaged areas of the state.

After visiting flood hit areas of the state, Mr Singh told reporters here that despite tall claims of accelerated relief and rescue operation by the NDA government, a vast chunk of flood victims was left at the mercy of God as no relief has reached them so far.

''The Nitish Kumar government is suppressing the voice of flood victims and it has distributed only 25 Kg of food grains as ration of one month instead of 100 Kg as was allocated--that too among only 10 per cent of the suffering people,'' he said adding flood victims had right to get relief from the government.

Mr Singh said that Congress was also preparing the list of flood victims and some sort of helps would be extended to them from the party fund.

State party president Sadanand Singh alleged that bureaucrats of Bihar were insensitive to the suffering masses and they had failed in providing timely relief to them in this hour of crisis.
