Minister's car runs over aged woman

Nagpur, Aug 16 (UNI) An aged woman died after being hit by the car of Maharashtra Minister for Textiles Satish Chaturvedi near here.

The woman, Jibhlabai Arakapayre (60), was knocked dead by Mr Chaturvedi's car while she was crossing the road near village Pachgaon, about 20 km from here, yesterday, police said today.

The old woman was crossing the road to catch a bus when the minister's convoy passed by, causing the mishap, police said.

Mr Chaturvedi was returning to Nagpur from Umrer, about 45 km from here, after attending an Independence Day programme, police said, adding, the driver of vehicle has been arrested.
