Minister warns against non-performing Government Schools
Dharwad, Aug 16 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti today warned of stern action against Government Secondary Schools that did not record a minimum of 40 per cent result in S S L C from next academic year.
Speaking after presenting awards to the Head Masters of 81 Secondary Schools in Dharwad, Haveri and Uttar Kannada districts for recording 100 per cent results in March 2007 examination here, he said that about 600 Secondary Schools had recorded 100 per cent results last year but this year the number has gone up to 769.
Mr Horatti called upon the teachers to work wholeheartedly as the government has solved 90 per cent of their problems. The government has decided to implement centralized education system in the state and a record amount of Rs 6669.70 Crore was earmarked for education department this year.
The minister said that the government proposed to provide admissions to schools on the lines of Delhi schools and an "Admission Policy" was in the offing with the procession to form a committee comprising of retired high level officials and education experts.
