Minister express peeved Edusat programme

Bangalore, Aug 16 (UNI) A Senior Karnataka Cabinet Minister today expressed displeasure over introduction of Edusat Network programme in the Government First Grade Colleges without his knowledge.

Minister for Higher Education D H Shankaramurthy today said that the programme, inaugurated by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on August 13, was held without his knowledge.

Holding the officials responsible for violating the protocol, the Minister said that even the Principal Secretary was also not present at the function.

Mr Shankaramurthy said, "I have been kept in the dark. I will speak to Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on the lack of coordination and take action against erring officials." The programme was conducted by the Collegiate Department to introduce Edusat Network in 102 Government First Grade Colleges in the State. The Chief Minister had also made several announcements including starting of new colleges by next year.
