Kashmiri Pandits launch political party in J&K
Jammu, Aug 16 (UNI) Displaced Kashmiri Pandits today floated a political party under the banner the banner of Jammu and Kashmir National Democratic Front (JKNDF) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to mediapersons here, the working president of the party AK Devani said the party would address the long pending demands of Kashmiri Pandit community and country's interests as well.
He said the community members, in the backdrop of high-tech political activity, set up the party with a mindset, policy and stake holding on many fronts.
Mr Devani said the membership drive was in full swing and so far 4,984 members had joined the party, adding the enrollment target was set at 50,000 in the coming months from India and abroad.
The party's draft constitution was ready and being circulated to seek the opinion of the community members. After the completion of the formalities, it would be registered with the Election Commission of India.
