Jsoft Solutions Ltd sets up BPO sector in Bellary

Bellary, (Karnataka), 16 Aug, 2007: On 15th August, 2007 Mr. M P Prakash, Hon'ble Home Minister of Karnataka inaugurated a hundred seater BPO capable of employing 300 graduate youth.

BPO to be run under the aegis of JSoft Solutions Ltd., the newly formed software arm of the JSW Group is part of an ambitious initiative of Mrs. Sangita Jindal, Chairperson of JSW Foundation.

JSoft Solutions Ltd., has envisaged setting up of numerous such centres in the other northern cities of Karnataka like Hospet, Hubli and Raichur to bring jobs to people at their place of residence and stop them from migrating to cities. A 300 seater BPO with a capacity to employ 900 people is slated to come into operation by January 2008 near Toranagallu, where JSW Steel Limited is located.

BPO will create 300 jobs and operate round the clock. Initially the BPO will be non-voice which will later be upgraded to a full fledged voice BPO.

Mr. Sajjan Jindal VC&MD JSW Steel Ltd. said that preference would be given to women in employment and these BPO's would be set up in tier-3 cities and district Taluks.

Home Minister announced plans for setting up an Earth Station at Bellary to give a quantum boost to the IT Industry and make it a technical hub.

Mr. Jindal also announced future plans to scale up the Bellary BPO into a 1000 seater operation with due support from the Bellary Chamber of Commerce&industry. This would open up new avenues of employment to the youth who were forced to migrate into the cities, added Mr. Jindal.
