Fire destroys laddu baskets in Tirumala

Tirumala,Andhra Pradesh, Aug 16 (UNI) A major fire broke out in the free laddu making unit located near the Annadanam Complex of the Sri Venkateswara Temple here today.

According to Fire Services officials, 20 baskets filled with boondi for making laddus were destroyed in the fire. However, none was injured as the unit was locked at the time of the incident.

A fire engine rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The exact cause of the fire was not immediately known.

TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy and TTD ChiefVigilance and Security Officer Hari Kumar immediately rushed to the spot, the officials said.
