EDUSAT network introduced without my knowledge: Minister

Bangalore, Aug 16 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Higher Education D H Shankaramurthy today expressed displeasure over the introduction of EDUSAT Network programme in Government First Grade Colleges without his knowledge.

The programme, inaugurated by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on August 13, was held without his knowledge, he told reporters here.

Holding the officials concerned responsible for violating the protocol, the Minister said even the Principal Secretary was also not present at the function.

''I have been kept in the dark. I will speak to Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on the lack of coordination and take action against erring officials,'' Mr Shankaramurthy said.

The programme was conducted by the Collegiate Department to introduce EDUSAT Network in 102 Government First Grade Colleges in the state.

The Chief Minister had also made several announcements, including starting of new colleges by next year.
