CBI files chargesheet against former Vijaya Bank CMD

Kochi, Aug 16 (UNI) The CBI today filed a chargesheet against former Vijaya Bank Chairman and two other former high officials of the Bank under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The Anti-Corruption Branch of the CBI filed the chargesheet before the Special CBI Court here against former Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Manmohan Singh Kapoor, former Senior Manager K Shambu Rai and Manager R Jayakumar Pillai.

The former officials were charge-sheeted for accepting bribe from K M Sali and his wife Najma Sali for approving a loan application pending with the bank, an official statement said.
