BJP K'taka chief defends Yediyurappa's statement
Bangalore, Aug 16 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka today justified Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's claim on becoming the Chief Minister in the state in October.
''There is nothing wrong in making such a statement as it is in tune with the agreement reached between coalition partners JD(S) and BJP before forming the government,'' State BJP President D V Sadanandagowda told newspersons here after holding a meeting with his party Ministers.
He discussed the current political scenario in the state and Mr Yediyurappa's statement after unfurling national the tri-colour yesterday at Shimoga.
Mr Gowda also said there was no confusion over the transfer of power from JD (S) to the BJP in October. He said the issue would be sorted out at the Coordination Meeting to be held shortly.
Later, Mr Yediyurppa said he and other leaders of the party would hold talks with the Chief Minister.
