Bank robber held, Rs 2.5 lakh booty seized

Agra, Aug 16 (UNI) Police today claimed to have arrested an accused allegedly involved in a bank robbery here last month.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hariram Sharma said the accused Teekam Singh was arrested late last night and a part of the booty, amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh recovered from his possession.

On July 13, six persons had looted Rs 19 lakh from the District Cooperative Bank. Only four of them could be nabbed so far and a total of Rs 9.2 lakh recovered from them.

Earlier on July 23, police had arrested two other accused and seized Rs 6.7 lakh from them.

Teekam was today sent to jail, while a hunt was on to nab the other two absconding criminals.
