Army jawan shot dead by another patrol party in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 16 (UNI) An Army jawan was killed when another patrol party opened fire on his detchment in north Kashmir, a police spokesman said.

Troops of 14 Bihar Regiment noticed some suspicious movement at Fowalad post in Gulmarg sector at 0415 hours, he said.

Sepoy Kunal Padan, who was on the other side, was hit by a bullet and died when the troops of the other patrol party opened fire in his direction.

Police, however, have initiated proceedings under section 174 Cr Pc, he added.
