5 policemen hurt in attack by goondas in MP

Badwani(MP), Aug 16: Five police officials were injured in an attack by two notorious criminals last night at village Khariya under Varla police station area of this district, police said.

A police team comprising an Assistant Sub-Inspector, a Head Constable and three Constables visited the village yesterday to arrest habitual criminals Sanjay Singh and Kunwar Singh on a complaint by a married woman that they attempted to outrage her modesty.

Both forced their entry into her house and attempted to molest her, but she managed to escape from their clutches, she said in a police complaint.

Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) N S Jadon said both criminals, who were already facing several criminal cases, had been arrested by the same team late last night.
