Water level in Mettur dam 121.06 ft

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 15 (UNI) The water level in the Stanley reservoir at Mettur across river Cauvery was 121.06 feet this morning, higher than the full capacity of 120 feet.

PWD sources said the inflow into the dam was 31,191 cusecs while the discharge was 44,479 cusecs.

From Grand Anaicut in Thanjavur district, 9,528 cuseces of water was let out into river Cauvery, 9,367 cusecs into Vennar and 2,513 cusecs into Grand Anaicut canal for irrigation.

Nearly 24,351 cusecs of surplus water was released into the Coleroon river for diverting it into the sea.
