ULFA bomb blast in Asom on I-Day
Guwahati, Aug 15: Two persons were injured in suspected United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) bomb blasts in Assam's Dhubri and Bongaigaon Districts on Wednesday morning.
According to officials, two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) exploded near Gandhi Maidan in Bongaigaon town at 8.23 a.m., injuring two persons.
The parade ground is adjacent to a police reserve and about 150 metres away from the Independence Day celebration venue.
In another incident, two bombs exploded near a parade ground adjacent to the Mahamaya Sanskrit Tol (school) at Gauripur town in Dhubri. No one was injured in this blast.
In Dhubri, first blast occurred at 8.38 a.m. when first Programmable Time Devise (PTD) kept near an electric transformer went off. Second blast took place at around 9.5 a.m. when a flag hosting ceremony was on.
