Two Nashik cops win President's medal
Nashik, Aug 14 (UNI) On the occasion of Independence Day, two police officers from Nashik have been awarded the President's medal this year for their meritorious service.
The two cops are B G Shekhar, Superintendent of Police of Anti-Corruption Bureau and Anil Y Makasare, Head Constable of Special Branch of Nashik City police.
Born at village Chaas in Ambegaon talkua of Pune district Shekhar joined the police force as Sub-Inspector (SI) in 1988 and assumed charge as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at Jalgaon in 1991. He had assisted the Mumbai Police from Bhusaval in investigating the 1993 serial bomb blast case that rocked the city.
