TN Govt organises 'common feast' in major temples
Chennai, Aug 15 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today organised a 'common feast' (Samabandhi Virundhu) in all major temples in which Ministers participated on the occasion of the Independence day.
The feast was organised in more than 30 temples in the city by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR and CE) department with Ministers joining he people in the medals.
Assembly Speaker R Avudaiyappan was at in the famous Kapaleeswarar temple in the city, while Local Administration Minister M K Stalin visited at two temples in Nungambakkam.
The HR and CE Minister had food with public at the Goddess Mundakanniamman temple in Mylapore where he was received with traditional temple honours.
State Ministers K N Nehru, M R K Panneerselvam, I Periasamy, N Suresh Rajan, Parthi Ilamvazhuthi, Subha Thangavelan, K K S S R Ramachandran, N K K P Raja, Thangam Thennarasau, N Selvaraj, M P Saminathan, Ms Poongothai, Ms Geetha Jeevan, A Tamizharasi, K P P Samy, U Madhivanan, K Ramachadnran, Deputy Speaker V P Duraisamy, Govt whip V S babu and MLAs B Ranganathan, S R Raja, Chennai Mayor Ma subramaniam and deputyMayor R Sathyabama, were among those, who attended the feast in various temples.
