Suspended BJP MLA urges Patidars to ensure Modi's defeat

Anand, Gujarat, Aug 15 (UNI) Suspended BJP legislator Bavku Unghad has pledged to ensure Chief Minister Narendra Modi's defeat in the forthcoming assembly elections.

Mr Unghad, who represents the Babra constituency in Amreli district, is one of the five MLAs who has been suspended for anti-party activities.

Addressing a gathering of the Patidar community at Petlad town near here yesterday, he called upon the community to end Mr Modi's ''one-man show''.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum Dinsha Patel was also present on the occasion. Mr Patel also urged the Patidars to extend their support to the five suspended BJP legislators.

Meanwhile, a meeting, which would be attended by the four other suspended MLAs -- Gordhan Zadaphia, Balu Tanti, Bechar Bhadani and Dhiru Gajera has been planned. The date of the meeting has not yet been finalised.

Interestingly, the rebel meet yesterday was held in the home turf of Mr C D Patel who is tourism minister in the Modi government.
