Sunita Williams to attend IAC

Hyderabad, Aug 15 (UNI) Indian-American Astronaut Sunita Williams will arrive here on September 28 to attend International Astronautical Congress (IAC), to be organised by the International Astronautical Federation from September 24 to 28.

According to official sources here, Ms Williams would deliver two lectures at the conference. The first lecture would be on the ''International Space Station (ISS) : an historic technical achievement and international cooperative success'' and the second on ''Living and working aboard the ISS.'' Ms Williams, whose father hails from Gujarat, had surpassed the 188-day and four-hour record stay in space station, set by her compatriot Shannon Lucid in 1996.

Earlier this year, she had logged 29 hours and 17 minutes in four space walks, eclipsing the record held by astronaut Kathryn Thornton, for most spacewalk time by a woman.
