Student drowned in Ganga

Kanpur, Aug 15 (UNI) A student drowned while bathing in the Ganga here today.

Ashish Kumar -- a class XI student at Jyoti Vidhya Mandir -- decided to go for bathing in Ganga along with his two friends Ajay Kumar and Sunil after the flag hoisting ceremony at their school.

Wherein, the trio were were caught by deep waters. While, Ashish drowned, others swam to safety.

Meanwhile, efforts were on to fish out the body, police said.
